Lead Data Analyst (Growth/Marketing Analytics)
Vanguard’s Growth Analytics Team supports essential Marketing Analytics to help transform Marketing in our Personal Investor space. We are adding a Lead Data Analyst to help support client growth!
In this role you will:
- Serve as the Analytic Lead on a multidisciplinary Marketing team, partnering with Marketing Product Owners, Engagement Strategists, Campaign Operations Specialists and more. Serve as their strategic analytic partner who can lead experimentation design, complex value calculations and results analysis/insights.
- Own analytic support for your Family throughout campaign cycles, including business planning, campaign launch support, feedback loop and campaign optimization.
- Gather and evaluate data from multiple sources to extract trends and business insights, translating findings into clear, compelling, and actionable solutions and narratives.
- handle deep data investigation, audience identification, segmentation, profiling, opportunity sizing, client behavior analytics, targeting, experimental design, forecasting and treatment results attribution and measurement.

Core Responsibilities
1. Engages with internal partners to understand business strategy, questions and goals. 2. Acquires and compiles structured and unstructured data and verifies its quality, accuracy and reasonableness.
3. Performs analyses of historical data to surface trends and insights using advanced analytical methods. Validates analytical techniques employed by other analysts.
4. Prepares and delivers expert level visualizations and internal presentations that translate analytic insights into tangible, actionable solutions for business partners to implement.
5. Develops, owns and manages recurring analytic or reporting processes.
6. Actively develops the analytics community at Vanguard by mentoring, coaching and connecting others with resources and training. Participates and presents during scheduled analytics seminars.

Qualifications
- Minimum of five years related work experience.
- Undergraduate degree or equivalent combination of training and experience. Graduate degree preferred.

Active Municipal Structured Products Analyst
Core Responsibilities:
- Conduct credit analysis across structured finance sectors using external and internally developed tools; support other structure intensive sectors (tobacco settlement and other securitizations, project finance, distressed and restructuring scenarios, etc.).
- Identify, understand, and model new or existing but mispriced tax-exempt instruments and develop strategies to accurately value them, and present investment recommendations to credit and trading teams.
- Identify and understand market inefficiencies to better model expected portfolio outcomes and develop strategies to benefit from inefficiencies; originate and execute on novel analytical approaches to municipal relative value.
- Actively pursue new market opportunities, limited offerings, and private placements, by leveraging external relationships; this may include taxable as well as tax-exempt investments.
- Use data and advanced learning techniques to reinforce how we allocate layered credit trades, model risks, and identify opportunities.
- Support and consolidate bespoke and fragmented credit modeling capabilities into a more production friendly experience.

Qualifications

Core Responsibilities:
- Identifies internal communication needs. Creates the process of developing new content and updating or altering existing content.
- Creates and updates SharePoint pages in accordance with Vanguard standards.
- Serves as a consultant to internal management and crew to proactively develop integrated communication strategies, including suggestions for appropriate audience, channels, and time frames. Recommends creative solutions to ensure successful crew change management. Measures and evaluates the readership effectiveness.
- Leads the design and implementation of communication solutions. Conducts needs analysis, configures the message, determines the target audience, designs communication plan and strategy. Partners with the business area to deliver on solutions.

Responsibilities:
- Manages staff. Develops, mentors and provides guidance, training and motivation as necessary. Conducts regular one on one and staff meetings. Hires, evaluates and counsels crew. Follows corporate disciplinary procedures per established Vanguard standards as required. Sets performance standards, reviews performance, provides feedback, and recommends wage increases in accordance with all applicable Human Resources policies and procedures.
- Provides risk guidance, oversight, and assurance services to the enterprise and partners based on the operational and strategic risk framework.
