Purpose of the Role

The role is responsible for Cell technology development of EVPV battery pack development project(s) to achieve the project level quality, cost and timeline targets abiding Gen3 NPI process through core group and extended team

Job Responsibility

Cell Technology

Lead cell Selection process, Benchmarking of cell technology.

Audit cell suppliers and evaluate supplier offerings.

Lead Cell characterisation, analysis, support to cell/pack model building.

Work with suppliers to develop solutions for PV/CV projects.

Define / review safety parameters for operating conditions of cells and battery packs.

Lead chemical analysis and simulation activities for reaction kinetics of different cell chemistries, assess failure criteria, risk assessment and usage characteristics.

Lead / review development of cell and pack safety guidelines, safe packaging practices, safety protocols during cell and pack handling, transportation and storage.

Lead cell packaging safety analysis in module / pack, define inter-cell spacing, cooling requirements, pressure requirements, welding thermal parameters and ensure safety protocols for overall battery pack.

Lead materials engineering materials analysis during cell selection.

Support to battery pack design during materials selection, optimization, alternate material solutions.

Develop strategy for TML cell roadmap.

Lead recycling, 2nd life usage.

Support to BMS development.

Support to cell testing activities.

Desired Candidate Profile

Education Masters in Electro-chemical / Chemical/ Material / Metallurgy / Mechanical / Electrical Engineering.

3-5 Year Experience in Cell / battery pack / EV aggregate development

Experience in EV battery new technology development

Relevant Experience

Experience in Cell / battery pack / EV aggregate development.

Experience in EV battery new technology development.

Familiar with latest cell technology trends, chemistry, formats.

Knowledgeable about future technology roadmaps, cell selection process.

  • Digital Surface Quality Specialist: Responsible for D-PQ Check of CAS/CLASS A Surface for all 3 studios & Outsource agencies data. Responsible to Ensures Data going outside Design is High Quality & meeting Global Design Standards. Check CAS Surface of assigned projects for Data Quality in terms of Surface construction & Shape – form with respect to Design Intent. Check Class A Surface of all projects for Data Quality in terms of Surface construction & Shape – form with respect to Design Intent. Optical Quality review on Data in VRED. Plan & review of Digital SRM/TRM activity in VRED Lab. Identify the early issues & share the report to highlighting the concerns. Verify Gap plan coming from Engineering to ensure alignment with Design intent requirements. Create Master section or Master Surface where Major PQ Concerns are highlighted. Prepare the D-PQ Report for CAS/CLASS /Optical Quality Checks
  • Surface verification on Physical properties: Review Physical Surface Reference Model (SRM) & Verify issues coming out of Digital data. Identify the issues & share the report highlighting the concerns. Check Highlights on Beta & PO Vehicles to ensure Design data respected.
  • Benchmarking & Target setting: Benchmark Form & Surfaces trend as well Gap, Flush & Section. Concept Section preparation & Proposal to Creative Design team to fulfil Design Perceived Quality requirements. Implement best practices to find and solve problems at an early stage, shorten the product development lifecycle, enhance the design quality, reduce the development risks and be first time right. Identify Use of AI & New commands & technic in Alias Software or process, which can improve the Quality output & time saving.
  • D-PQ Management Support: Established the review mechanism with internal stakeholder. Review and drive corrective measures on Quality issues along with CAS/CLASS A Team and implement the learning in Design Development Processes. Desired Candidate Profile

  • Engineering/Design Graduate with 6+ years of experience in domain of Digital CLASS A / ALIAS CLASS-A modelling.
  • Hands on experience & In depth knowledge of Digital surfacing in Alias/Iccemsurf Software of Automotive Design.
  • Experience of at least 2- 3 full product development cycles in Automotive Design Studio as Digital modeller or Design Quality.
  • Knowledge of ALIAS V-RED & CATIA will be added advantage.

Purpose of the Role

This position is required to manage Design Programs for Tata Motors Design The lack of this position will result in deficiency in design program management and hamper project timing and budgeting activities.

Job Responsibility

Responsible for project management of all design deliverables in accordance with the NPI product development system Act as Design SPOC for assigned design programs. Represent Design at key programme forums and ensure key planning and status documents are created and maintained. Discuss all programme assumptions and Detail out plan of all resource, materials, and outsource spend requirements based on cycle plan. Work with Functional Heads to align these requirements. Monthly monitoring and tracking of resource and material and outsource spend requirements wrt actual plan. Manage design meeting cadence to ensure the Design project team are aware of project timing and deliverables. Ensure all deliverables are clearly informed, understood, and the required forums are in place and correctly managed to escalate and resolve issues. Work closely with the Design, CAS, studio engg, CMF and Modelling teams to ensure efficient delivery. This includes management of content, timing, review cadence, as well as an understanding of associated costs. Deliver robust and timely Gateway deliverables for your programme(s), as part of TATA NPI process. Co-ordinate and report out all gateway related Design deliverables and Milestone Success criteria document. Ensure effective running of the design approval process. Support commercial management/IPA of key external partners for nominated Design projects.

Desired Candidate Profile

Education: Masters-level qualification in Automotive Design from a reputed institution in India or abroad. Relevant Experience: 12+ Yrs. of experience in a global automobile OEM as Project Lead/Design Program Management role in at least two complete programs.
