JOB TITLE: Assistant Buyer, Men’s
REPORTS TO: Director of Men’s Merchandising
JOB PURPOSE:
The Assistant Buyer, Men’s supports and collaborates with the TOM FORD Fashion, Americas Merchandising Team in the day-to-day management of all Men’s product categories. The Assistant Buyer, Men’s works closing with the Director of Merchandising, Men’s and the Retail Teams to execute the business strategy, supporting the buying process, allocating and distributing to the TOM FORD Fashion Americas stores, in accordance with company strategic business plans.
TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Driving Men’s strategies and priorities through Tom Ford Americas Region and work directly with the supervisor to deliver commercial plan
- Understand opportunities, risks and best practices for enhancing brand efficiency in the market, monitor market trends and inventory opportunities for proactive action
- Support collection launch plans, build vital retail/merchandising tools, compile retail feedback & display imagery
- Constantly monitor sell-thru by door and consolidate product to maximize sales
- Along with the Director supervision, direct responsibility of Leather Goods, Shoes and Underwear product categories in terms of sales performances, merchandise deliveries, benchmarking and new business opportunities, pricing and markdown proposals
- Liaise with third party vendors to ensure timely delivery of merchandise
- Maintain weekly shipping reports and communicate opportunities/risks to buyers
- Assist in analyzing business reports on a weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual basis
- Accurately reconcile receipts with strong attention to detail and communicate any issues that arise
- Ensure price events are entered, set up properly & accurately logged
- Ad hoc reporting as needed and support for the buying team in day-to-day functions and responsibilities
- Partner with e-commerce merchandising and photo teams to ensure product accuracy
- Attend weekly store calls to discuss needs & opportunities, gathering store feedback
- Build and maintain buy books, product trainings and action plan documents
- Preparation & Support before, during and after buying session 4 times a year
- Assist during market with hindsight reporting, product selection and assortment (with additional direct responsibility on Shoes, Leather Goods and Underwear)
- Purchase Order entry, changes and cancellations
QUALIFICATIONS
- 1-2 years of experience in merchandising, buying and/or planning roles
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills and passion for the fashion industry
- High level of proficiency in retail math, Excel (pivot tables, v-lookups), Power Point
- Background in Men’s (ready-to-wear or shoes and leather goods) is a plus
- Previous e-commerce experience is a plus
- Strong organizational and analytical skill set with fashion business acumen
- Excellent organizational skills and problem solving

Director of Men’s Wholesale
JOB PURPOSE:
The Director of Men’s Wholesale is responsible for the TOM FORD Fashion Americas Men’s Wholesale business, including MRTW, Footwear and Leathergoods, across the US, Mexico, and Canada. In partnership with the GMM of Retail & Wholesale and the Director of Women’s Wholesale, the Director of Men’s Wholesale builds strong and sustainable relationships with key wholesale and retail partners, utilizing an entrepreneurial and action-oriented approach to deliver growth and success for the Americas Wholesale business.
Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Formulate and implement comprehensive strategic plans to achieve sales and profit targets
- Identify and prospect potential wholesale accounts through meticulous market research and analysis, uncovering opportunities for growth and expansion
- Cultivate and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with existing and prospective retail partners, serving as their primary point of contact for all wholesale inquiries. Develop account-specific strategies to responsibly grow wholesale as per the strategic guidance of the President and GMM
- Negotiate commercial terms, investments and growth targets with retail partners, including Department Stores and Multi-Brands, ensuring mutually beneficial arrangements that foster long-term partnerships
- Lead business activities during market weeks in Milan four times per year, including showroom and virtual presentations, order negotiations, client appointments, and overseeing order confirmation with the sales administration team
- Negotiate and implement commercial operations such as pop-up events, training programs, sales incentives, and visual merchandising to drive growth. Manage expenditures in collaboration with the marketing department, ensuring a strong return on investment
- Create and implement a strong core replenishment program to drive growth, sell-out, brand presence, and strong S/T
- Regularly visit key points of sale to optimize product assortment and merchandising strategies for maximum commercial impact and to manage the training of the sales staff on the brand, collection, and visual merchandising
- Provide support for credit management and customer service to maintain strong and positive relationships with partners and clients
- Manage the DSA program and monitor performance on a monthly basis, working closely with in store DSAs to achieve sales targets
- Partner with cross-functional teams—including sales, marketing, and operations—to align wholesale initiatives with the organization’s overarching business objectives
- Continuously monitor and analyze sales performance, market trends, and competitive activities to identify areas for growth and enhancement and implement action plans and incentives to boost sales when necessary
- Monitor stock levels in Department Store partners, anticipating needs and proposing reorders to prevent stockouts of best-selling products
- Propose short, mid and long-term strategic plans and corresponding budgets
- Conduct regular business reviews with retail partners, analyzing sales data to identify improvement areas and proposing actionable strategies to drive increased sales
- Develop and execute effective sales and marketing strategies tailored for wholesale accounts, encompassing promotional campaigns, product launches, and sales incentives

Requirements:
- 7-10 years of Men’s Wholesale experience, with emphasis on MRTW; preferably in a luxury environment; tailored Clothing experience a plus
- Strong understanding of Men’s fashion industry (i.e. competition landscape and trends)
